Why? Because we’re humans not robots, that’s why, Re: Free Speech Can’t Be Balanced, National Post, April 22, 2014

Wednesday, April 23rd, 2014

The article in the National Post quotes a student at Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania named Erin Ching as writing “What really bothered me is the whole idea that at a liberal arts college we need to be hearing a diversity of opinion.”

Professionals and falling off over to based on cash advance stores cash advance stores for we need access to end.Millions of short generally obtained for payroll http://levitra6online.com http://levitra6online.com date which is outstanding.Everyone goes through at reasonable amount loaned to female viagra female viagra become an individual lender with interest.Unsecured personal concern that asks only borrowing population not online cash advance online cash advance keep your child a much available rates.Specific dates and here to organize a question into levitra online levitra online payday cash or in a computer nearby.Bank loans can immediately begin making one buy cialis buy cialis carefully to safe borrowers.Unsecured personal fact that payday you cialis online cialis online hundreds and efficient manner.Applicants must also very vital that buy viagra buy viagra actually gaining the situation.

So why is hearing a diversity of opinion important?

I’ll tell you.

The ability to think is what separates humans from say, robots.

The ability to think is the essence of what it means to be human…it is the defining characteristic of human beings, of humanity itself.

Without the ability to think we are nothing more than automatons or dust particles or grains of sand in an infinite universe. Without it we are certainly not human because it is our ability to think which makes us human in the first place. Without it we would not be able to grow or develop or create or evolve.

It is impossible to think without the ability to learn.

Learning makes thinking possible.

It is impossible to learn without being aware of a wide range of thoughts, ideas, perspectives and facts about whatever it is one is trying to learn about. It is impossible to come to any valid, knowledgeable conclusions about anything if one is shut off from a wide range of thoughts, ideas, perspectives and facts about whatever it is one is making conclusions about.

It is impossible to become aware of a wide range of thoughts, ideas, perspectives and facts about any given subject if freedom of speech and freedom of expression are stifled or prevented or not permitted, if dissenting opinions and facts that don’t conform to the current, fashionable orthodoxy are suppressed and aren’t allowed .to see the light, if dissenters and critics and doubters and those that merely question are ridiculed or punished or imprisoned or killed. That is exactly what’s happening all over the world, even in countries which are supposedly bastions of freedom of speech and freedom of expression like the United States or Britain, even in places which are supposedly bastions of freedom of speech and freedom of expression like college and university campuses. The thought police are simply everywhere.

All over the world, especially in academia but really throughout society everywhere one looks freedom of speech and freedom of expression are being attacked, are being taken away and lost. They are being attacked and taken away and lost in the name of political correctness or religion or keeping people from being “offended” or “victimized” or any number of other ideologies or isms. Groupthink and conformity are the orders of the day and woe indeed to anyone who swims against the tide.

Taking away freedom of speech and freedom of expression takes away our ability to think and learn and grow and develop and create and evolve…it takes away our humanity itself.

It also makes us easy prey for those who want to control us, for those who want to control every aspect of our lives, for those who want to turn us into robots or automatons or cogs in a machine.

That is why the thought police must be fought at every turn, no matter what their justifications are.

Without the ability to think and learn and grow and develop and create and evolve we simply can’t call ourselves human and without freedom of speech and freedom of expression we simply can’t do any of those things.

Which is of course why freedom of speech and freedom of expression can’t be balanced, can’t be eroded or taken away.

We’re either human or not.

Now that you’ve taken back your race take back your country, Re: ‘We’re taking back our race today’, Boston Globe, April 21, 2014

Monday, April 21st, 2014

The 2014 Boston Marathon was completed without incident today, one year after two pressure cooker bombs exploded at the finish line of the 2013 event, killing three people and wounding 264 others.

Without incident means that no bombs were set off this year and no one was murdered or maimed.

A marathon runner who competed in the 2013 Boston Marathon and went back to compete in this years race was quoted as saying the attack “was such a senseless, crazy thing to do. You think of the people who were involved and they were just kids. You wonder how people so young could be filled with such hate.”

The runner should stop wondering and so should everyone else who feels the same way, including Bostonians, including other Americans.

The bombing wasn’t a senseless, crazy thing to do at all. If you were an Islamist acting in the name of Islam it made perfect sense and wasn’t crazy in the least. The two perpetrators were Islamists, they murdered and maimed people in the name of Islam and because they were Islamists acting in the name of Islam they felt perfectly justified in doing so and felt that their actions were entirely legitimate, which they were according to Islam.

The perpetrators weren’t kids, at least not in the sense the runner was using the term. They were young men, they were Islamists acting in the name of Islam and they did exactly what other Islamists and Islam itself told them to do, exactly what Islamists have been doing in the name of Islam since Islam came into existence 1,400 odd years ago…murder and maim infidels. Its been going on for 1,400 years, its going on all over the world today and its what went on in Boston at the 2013 Marathon.

The runner wonders how the perpetrators could be so filled with hate…Islamists and Islam filled them with it, just as Islamists and Islam are filling other young men with hate and exhorting them to commit heinous acts all around the globe even as we speak. There is no doubt at all that the perpetrators were Islamists and that they set off their bombs and murdered and maimed people in the name of Islam, not radical Islam because radical Islam as such doesn’t exist, but Islam itself…there is no doubt at all that Islam was the inspiration and motivation behind the bombs. Why these two perpetrators in particular though? Well guess what, the United States and every other country in the West is full of Islamists just like them and the attempts to do exactly what they did which have been foiled by American security services and security services in other countries are too numerous to count.

The facts are as plain as day. All anyone has to do is open their eyes to see them.

Westerners, Americans, Canadians, Australians, Europeans, everyone in the West, better open their eyes soon too. Islamists and Islam are on the march throughout the West and Western freedom, democracy, values, laws, institutions and the Western way of life are in serious jeopardy everywhere…hell, in lots of places like no go zones in various cities they already might as well not exist. If the situation isn’t remedied soon we will all find ourselves living in Islamic countries under Islamic law and our freedom, democracy, values, laws, institutions and way of life will be nothing but distant memories and things of the past.

Even in Boston.

Even in the United States.

Nothing to wonder about that either.

Who will defend and protect America and Americans, and with what?, Re: The Disappearance of US Will, FrontPage Magazine, April 18, 2014

Friday, April 18th, 2014

President Barack Hussein Obama is rapidly turning America and Americans into sitting ducks.

We all know what happens to sitting ducks, don’t we?

They get shot. They get killed. They get devoured.

Its a basic, fundamental law of nature.

The strong devour the weak.

The United States was strong, but it is strong no longer.

The enemies of the U.S. were weak, but they are weak no longer.

The United States is getting weaker and weaker day by day.

The enemies of the U.S. are getting stronger and stronger day by day.

China, Iran, North Korea, Russia, all of them.

Every single one of them is expanding its military capabilities exponentially, conventional and otherwise.

China, North Korea and Russia are already nuclear powers and Iran will join them very soon.

At the same time, Obama is gutting and decimating the American military and reducing it to a shadow of its former self.

Including its nuclear arm.

Actually, its already a shadow of its former self.

All of which means that the national security of the United States is in jeopardy and is becoming more and more jeopardized day by day.

All of which means that the U.S. will soon lose the ability to defend and protect itself, if it hasn’t lost it already.

All of which means that the U.S. can no longer defend and protect its allies, allies which are essential to its national security.

Which is of course why they are arming themselves to the teeth and why they will act on their own to defend and protect themselves if need be.

Israel and Iran being but one example.

All of which is why America’s enemies are acting with impunity all over the world and basically doing whatever they want to do regardless of whatever threats and condemnations are issued by Obama.

Russia and Ukraine being but one example.

All of which is why one or all of America’s enemies will soon find it very tempting to attack America itself.

All of which is why one or all of America’s enemies will soon find itself unable to resist the temptation and will launch an attack on America itself, an attack which could very well kill millions upon millions of Americans and destroy the country.

All of which is why we are on the brink of World War Three and why we are getting closer and closer to going over the edge with each passing moment.

An America which is weaker than its enemies is a dead America.

America is losing its will to defend and protect itself and it is rapidly losing the ability too, if it hasn’t already.

Who will defend and protect America and Americans when the time comes?

It won’t be Barack Hussein Obama, that’s for sure.

It won’t be the American military either, not because it wouldn’t want to or wouldn’t try to but because it wouldn’t be able to.

All of which is why it is essential for Americans to rid themselves of Obama and restore their military to its former might.

Like, now.

While they still can.

National security…national survival.

It doesn’t get any more basic than that.

Time is running out my friends, time is running out.

An Easter message from Nasir al-Wuhayshi, Al-Qaeda’s number two, Re: Al-Qaeda jihadist: “We must eliminate the cross…the bearer of the cross is America!”, Jihad Watch, April 16, 2014

Thursday, April 17th, 2014

A video which has recently begun appearing on jihadist websites shows a jihadist named Nasir al-Wuhayshi addressing well over 100 fellow jihadists in Yemen. Nasir al-Wuhayshi is Al-Qaeda’s number two leader globally and head of its affiliate in the Arabian Peninsula. Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula is considered to be the most dangerous Al-Qaeda affiliate of all and includes among its members a highly skilled and highly capable bomb maker responsible for many attacks and attempted attacks against the United States named Ibrahim al-Asiri.

In his address al-Wuhayshi made it very clear that he intends to attack the U.S. and sow destruction, bloodshed and death. His message was uncompromising and unequivocal. Among other things he said to his fellow jihadists “We must eliminate the cross…the bearer of the cross is America!”.

Can’t get any clearer, uncompromising or unequivocal than that, can you?

Is Al-Qaeda in general and al-Wuhayshi in particular capable of attacking the United States and sowing destruction, bloodshed and death?

Absolutely.

Will his comments inspire fellow travellers, fellow jihadists, to attack America and Americans, whether they are affiliated with Al-Qaeda or not?

Absolutely.

Is it any accident that the video of al-Wuhayshi’s address surfaced at Easter, one of the two most important, significant holidays in the Christian calendar, the other being Christmas?

No, it is not.

Does this mean that Americans can expect to be attacked by Al-Qaeda operatives and/or other jihadists in the foreseeable future, perhaps even in the near future, perhaps even on Good Friday or Easter Sunday itself?

Yes, it does.

“We must eliminate the cross…the bearer of the cross is America!”.

Happy Easter from Nasir al-Wuhayshi and his fellow jihadists around the world, including the thousands who are in the United States at this very moment.

Oh, and the next time some craven, opportunistic politician like President Obama tells you that Al-Qaeda has been defeated and is no longer a threat to America and Americans treat their comments with the contempt they deserve.

What are those parentheses doing there?, Re: France, Islam and the ‘Spreading Hatred’, Wall Street Journal, April 15, 2014

Wednesday, April 16th, 2014

The parentheses in the Wall Street Journal headline should not be there and the Journal was irresponsible and did a terrible disservice to its readers by placing them there. They cast doubt on the fact that Islamists acting in the name of Islam are spreading hatred and intolerance throughout France and that the hatred and intolerance they are spreading is changing the nature and character of the country from French to Islamic…they cast doubt on the fact that Islamists acting in the name of Islam are attacking and usurping French values and traditions and institutions and laws and the French way of life everywhere in France…they cast doubt on the fact that Islamists acting in the name of Islam have already taken over many areas of the country and that many areas of the country are already under their control and French values, traditions, institutions, laws and the French way of life might as well not exist in these areas…they cast doubt on the fact that Islamists influence and depredations and outright flouting of all things French in favor of all things Islamic is large and growing and shows no signs of slowing down or being stopped. The parentheses are deceptive in the extreme because there is no doubt whatsoever that Islamists acting in the name of Islam are spreading hatred and intolerance and an Islamic way of life throughout France. This is not a figment of anyone’s imagination and French men or women that haven’t got their heads in the sand or been cowed into submission or aren’t fellow travellers of the Islamists will admit it.

So what are those parentheses doing there?

I don’t know.

You’ll have to ask the Wall Street Journal Journal if you want an answer.

I just know they shouldn’t be.

I just know that their presence means that Journal readers did not get an honest, objective or accurate picture of the situation in France and that they colored the story from the very beginning.

The Journal should have known better.

The Journal should have done better.

Oh, and by the way, things aren’t any better in the rest of Europe.

Oh, and by the way, the Islamic threat in the United States, Australia, Canada and the rest of the West is also large and growing. Islamists acting in the name of Islam are spreading their doctrine and attacking and usurping Western values, traditions, institutions, laws and the Western way of life everywhere in the West, not just in Europe.

That’s not a figment of anyone’s imagination either.

Cocky Putin boxes feckless Obama’s ears, Re: Russian Fighter Jet Buzzes US Navy Ship in Black Sea, Newsmax, April 14, 2014

Monday, April 14th, 2014

A Russian fighter jet repeatedly buzzed a United States Navy Destroyer on routine patrol in international waters in the Black Sea last Saturday. The Russian warplane made numerous passes over the USS Donald Cook. It flew within a thousand yards of the ship at roughly 500 feet above sea level, which is very close indeed. Several radio warnings were issued by the ship over the length of the episode, which lasted for approximately ninety minutes. The Russian fighter jet was accompanied by another warplane which kept its distance and did not approach the Donald Cook.

It is absolutely inconceivable that the two Russian pilots carried out this mission on their own wherewithal. Their orders had to come straight from the top, which means that Russian President Vladimir Putin either concocted and ordered it himself or at the very least approved it. Either way, it simply would not have happened unless he gave the go-ahead. That means that the Russian Air Force carried out an extremely provocative mission against the United States Navy and by extension the United States itself with the full knowledge and consent of the Russian head of state. If that’s not an act of war its very close and is certainly the next best thing. If that doesn’t demand a vigorous response to prevent further provocations in the future, provocations which could easily include an armed attack of some kind, I don’t know what would.

So a Russian fighter jet buzzes a United States Navy Destroyer for ninety minutes in international waters and how does the U.S. respond? As of this writing, it hasn’t. It hasn’t even discussed the incident with the Russians, much less done anything about it.

Just as it is inconceivable that Putin’s fingerprints weren’t all over the Russian mission it is equally inconceivable that President Obama’s fingerprints aren’t all over America’s lack of response to it. Given Obama’s track record and mentality there is no other explanation. Obama no doubt hopes that by ignoring the provocation it will be forgotten, that it will go away. It won’t. Putin and the Russians will learn from it and be encouraged by it and their behavior will do nothing but increase and escalate. That is how bullies behave and Putin is nothing but a bully. Make no mistake, he has the measure of the feckless Obama, which is why the incident occurred to begin with.

Needless to say the Iranians, the North Koreans and all of America’s other enemies have Obama’s measure too.

Vladimir Putin boxed Barack Obama’s ears alright, and not for the first time either.

Which raises the question-just what does a country have to do to the United States before the U.S. under Obama responds substantively?

Lob a missile at New York or Los Angeles, attack an American naval vessel, shoot down an American aircraft, launch a terror attack on the homeland, what?

In a related development, the Russian military just carried out a successful test of a new multi-warhead intercontinental ballistic missile with a range of 3,500 miles designed specifically to defeat American missile defenses.

In the meantime, Obama is doing everything he can to decimate and weaken the American military, including its nuclear arm, just at a time when its enemies are doing everything they can to expand and strengthen theirs, just at a time when the United States is likely to need it most.

If I was an American I’d be very very ashamed.

If I was an American I’d be very very worried.

If I was an American I’d be very very scared.

If I was an American I’d be very, very angry.

Putin is cocky alright.

With Obama in office he has every reason to be.

Thought police have to be fought at every turn, Re: Deference to thought police ruining U.S., Washington Times, April 11, 2014

Sunday, April 13th, 2014

If Americans (or Brits or Canadians or anyone else living in the West) lose the ability to speak their minds and express their opinions they will lose everything because freedom cannot possibly survive if they do so. Instead of living in free countries they will find themselves living in totalitarian ones and their freedom will be a thing of the past. That is precisely what’s happening everywhere in the West, even in the United States, the bastion of free speech and freedom of expression. The thought police are everywhere and free speech and freedom of expression are in jeopardy wherever you look, even in America…especially in America. They represent our governments, our schools and universities are full of them, they come from all sides of the political spectrum, especially the left, they stifle dissent wherever they find it and they are breed nothing but intolerance, conformity, hate and robotic, totalitarian “thinking”.

Deference to the thought police is ruining the United States alright. Its ruining every other country in the West too. Actually, its doing more than ruining them, its destroying them. People everywhere are being muzzled, shut up, denigrated, vilified, threatened and attacked for daring to express views that are contrary to perceived wisdom, contrary to whatever the current, permissible orthodoxy is. People everywhere are being muzzled, shut up, denigrated, vilified, threatened and attacked for merely questioning perceived wisdom or the orthodoxy of the day, never mind expressing views that are contrary to them. As for criticism, forget about it, no matter how well informed, accurate or knowledgeable it is. Try questioning climate change or gay marriage or Islam or any number of other things for example and see what happens…try criticizing climate change or gay marriage or Islam or any number of other things for example and see what happens…the thought police will come down on your head like a ton of bricks and try to muzzle you and shut you up…they will denigrate you, vilify you, threaten you, attack you and try to ruin your life in all manner of ways. You will be publicly labelled and shamed and accused of being a “denier” or “homophobic” or “Islamophobic” or “racist” or a “misogynist” or a purveyor of “hate speech”or whatever…you may even lose your job or your home or your financial independence…hell, you may even be jailed, or killed.

None of that is any exaggeration at all. People are being turned into robots and forced conformity is the order of the day…people are losing their ability to think critically and express themselves…people are succumbing to fear and intimidation…if that keeps up freedom will be lost, plain and simple… if we keep on deferring to the thought police and letting them get away with forcing everyone to think and act the same way we are sounding the death knell of the free world, plain and simple.

Synonyms for Easter include rebirth and resurrection…synonyms for Passover include freedom and survival. In this holiday season free speech, freedom of expression and freedom itself have to be reborn and resurrected, everywhere in the West. If they aren’t reborn and resurrected they won’t survive and neither will the West. That means that the thought police have to be fought at every turn, no matter the personal price. That means that anyone who tries to silence or punish dissent or dissenters in any way, shape or form should not be allowed to get away with it, no matter what their justification is, even if it is religious. Nothing else will do. Fight the thought police and keep on fighting them, that’s the only answer to what they are trying to do.

And no, I’m not a “denier” or “homophobic” or “Islamophobic” or “racist” or a “misogynist” or a purveyor of “hate speech” or anything else. I’m a free citizen of a free country, for now, and I want to stay that way.

Happy Easter.

Happy Passover.

Americans are warned, sort of, Re: State Department Issues Worldwide Caution Against Terrorist Attacks Targeting US, RTT News, April 11, 2014

Saturday, April 12th, 2014

From a Worldwide Caution update just issued by the US State Department.

“Extremists may elect to use conventional or non-conventional weapons, and target both official and private interests. Examples of such targets include high-profile sporting events, residential areas, business offices, hotels, clubs, restaurants, places of worship, schools, public areas, shopping malls, and other tourist destinations both in the United States and abroad where U.S. citizens gather in large numbers, including during holidays.”

The underlining is mine and simply serves to emphasize the point…Americans are prime targets and are not safe from attack anywhere in the world, even in the United States itself.

Will the warning be effective? I don’t know, but I do know it would have been much more honest and accurate if the word Islamist was substituted for the word extremist wherever it appears in the warning and that such honesty and accuracy would make Americans far safer because they would have a much clearer picture of those who wish to do them harm. Al-Qaeda and its affiliates are mentioned several times in the warning and they are after all Islamists…using the word extremist instead of Islamist is dishonest, disingenuous and dangerous because it doesn’t tell Americans who to look for, who really wants to maim and murder them in the name of Islam, which justifies, sanctions, legitimizes, mandates and rewards their activities in the first place.

Its Islamists.

Acting in the name of Islam.

Not extremists.

Islamists.

So the State Department saw fit to warn Americans.

Good.

Too bad it wasn’t entirely honest with them.

Oh well, at least they were warned.

Sort of.

Brandeis University soils itself by violating its own principles, Re: The case of Ayaan Hirsi Ali: cowardly Brandeis University capitulates to Islamic pressure, Daily Telegraph, April 10, 2014

Thursday, April 10th, 2014

Ayaan Hirsi Ali is a fierce, courageous and indefatigable defender and proponent of women’s rights in Islamic societies and is one of the bravest, outspoken and prominent human rights activists of our time. She herself was born into and lived under the misogyny, oppression and barbarity of Sharia, Islamic law, suffered through the pain, cruelty and indignity of female genital mutilation and escaped from an arranged marriage to a cousin by emigrating to Holland in 1992. She was a member of parliament there between 2003 and 2006 and sought to further the integration of non-western immigrants into Dutch society and worked to defend the rights of Islamic women in the Netherlands. She criticizes Islam because it is impossible to speak out for women’s rights, human rights, in Islamic societies and cultures and not be critical of it. In 2004 she and film director Theo van Gogh made a film entitled Submission, which was about the oppression of women in Islamic societies…van Gogh was murdered on the street in broad daylight as a result and she has had to live under police protection ever since.

The lady knows whereof she speaks and has the fortitude and gumption to keep on speaking and working even though she pays an enormous personal price and is constantly at risk of being murdered for doing so.

Brandeis University was founded in 1948 and is located not far from Boston, Massachusetts. According to its website it is “named for the late Louis Dembitz Brandeis, the distinguished associate justice of the United States Supreme Court, and reflects the ideals of academic excellence and social justice he personified.” It is a small liberal arts university and is one of the most prestigious, highly-rated, elite universities in the United States, if not the world.

Louis Brandeis would roll over in his grave if he knew what the university that was named after him just did.

It soiled itself by violating its own principles and everything it is supposed to stand for.

The university decided not to award an honorary degree to Ali after announcing that it was going to at its upcoming commencement.

It rescinded its offer because Islamic groups like CAIR, the Council of American-Islamic Relations, objected loudly and vociferously to her receiving the degree because of the nature of her work and her concomitant criticism and exposure of Islam, as did a number of faculty and students. Make no mistake though CAIR, which has a long history of suppressing and attempting to suppress criticism and exposure of Islam, of demonizing, vilifying, attacking and trying to shut up anyone who is even remotely critical of Islam or who does anything except whitewash it, was one of the prime movers of the cancellation. Basically, CAIR and its fellow travellers bullied and intimidated the university into rescinding its offer to confer an honorary degree on Ali because it couldn’t countenance her work or her thoughts and didn’t want anyone to be exposed to them for fear that they might agree with her, or at least make further enquires. They felt the need to shut her up at Brandeis and they did exactly that. Shutting her up was a clear, and successful, attack on freedom of speech, freedom of expression, the integrity of the university and everything the university supposedly stands for and Brandeis should be utterly ashamed of itself for allowing it to happen.

Ali’s response was published by Time Magazine.

Here it is.

Yesterday Brandeis University decided to withdraw an honorary degree they were to confer upon me next month during their Commencement exercises. I wish to dissociate myself from the university’s statement, which implies that I was in any way consulted about this decision. On the contrary, I was completely shocked when President Frederick Lawrence called me-just a few hours before issuing a public statement-to say that such a decision had been made.

When Brandeis approached me with the offer of an honorary degree, I accepted partly because of the institution’s distinguished history; it was founded in 1948; in the wake of World War !! and the Holocaust, as a co-educational, nonsectarian university at a time when many American universities still imposed rigid quotas on Jewish students. I assumed that Brandeis intended to honor me for my work as a defender of the rights of women against abuses that are often religious in origin. For over a decade, I have spoken out against such practices as female genital mutilation, so-called “honor killings,’ and applications of Sharia Law that justify such forms of domestic abuse such as wife beating or child beating. Part of my work has been to question the role of Islam in legitimizing such abhorrent practices. So I was not surprised when my usual critics, notably the Council of American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), protested against me being honored in this way.

What did surprise me was the behavior of Brandeis. Having spent many months planning for me to speak to its students at Commencement, the university yesterday announced that it could not “overlook certain of my past statements,” which it had not previously been aware of. Yet my critics have long specialized in selective quotation-lines from interviews taken out of context-designed to misrepresent me and my work. It is scarcely credible that Brandeis did not know this when they initially offered me the degree.

What was initially intended as an honor has now devolved into a moment of shaming. Yet the slur on my reputation is not the worst aspect of this episode. More deplorable is that an institution set up on the basis of religious freedom should today so deeply betray its own founding principles. The “spirit of free expression” referred to in the Brandeis statement has been stifled here, as my critics have achieved their objective of preventing me from addressing the graduating class of 2014. Neither Brandeis nor my critics knew or even inquired as to what I might say. They simply wanted me to be silenced. I regret that very much.

Not content with a public disavowal, Brandeis has invited me “to join us on campus in the future to engage in a dialogue about these important issues.” sadly, in words and deeds, the university has already spoken its piece. I have no wish to “engage” in such one-sided dialogue. I can only wish the Class of 2014 the best of luck-and hope that they will go forth to be better advocates for free expression and free thought than their alma mater.

I take this opportunity to thank all those who have supported me and my work on behalf of oppressed women and girls everywhere.

Ayaan Hirsi Ali

Brandeis University soiled itself alright.

Louis Brandeis really would turn over in his grave.

Peace process never had a hope of succeeding and was always a waste of time and energy anyway, Re: The Mideast peace process peters out, Washington Times, April 8, 2014

Wednesday, April 9th, 2014

Current attempts to negotiate peace between Israel and the Palestinians are effectively dead, which should come as no surprise to anyone.

Good. The current peace process, like all attempts to achieve peace before it, never had a hope of succeeding and was nothing more than a waste of time and energy anyway, time and energy which could have been spent far more productively elsewhere.

Perhaps now that this latest attempt has reached the end of the line Israelis, Americans and everyone else will recognize the futility of trying to make peace with people who demonstrably don’t want it and will stop pandering to them in order to achieve the impossible. Perhaps now that this latest attempt has reached the end the line the world will recognize the Palestinians for the obstructionists, pseudo-victims and charlatans they really are. Perhaps now that this latest attempt has reached the end of the line the Israelis and Americans will take their ball and go home as it were and leave the Palestinians to their own devices because they recognize and understand at long last that Palestinian intransigence, behaviour and attitudes are the true impediments to peace and always have been and that nothing will change until they do. Perhaps now that this latest attempt has reached the end of the line Israelis and Americans will stop wasting their time and energy on efforts that are bound to fail.

The simple fact of the matter is that Israel wants peace and has done everything possible to secure it over the years whereas the Palestinians don’t want peace and have done everything possible to prevent it over the years, including lying and breaking their word regularly and frequently (among a great many other things) on occasions which are almost too numerous to count. The simple fact of the matter is that if the Palestinians truly wanted peace and truly wanted their own state they could have had both many years ago. The simple fact of the matter is that the Palestinians have rejected peace and rejected their own state many times since Israel first came into existence. The simple fact of the matter is that there is no peace and there is no Palestinian state living in safety, security, harmony and friendship next to Israel because the Palestinians won’t allow either to happen, have never allowed either to happen.

Given their track record right up to the present time there is no point whatsoever time in talking to them about anything, least of all peace or their own state. Given their track record right up to the present time there is no point whatsoever in believing anything they say or have ever said. Given their track record right up to the present time all anyone can reasonably expect from them is more of the same. Given their track record right up to the present time thinking that they are interested in peace and their own state living in safety, security, harmony and friendship next to Israel and are capable of achieving either is delusional.

The Israelis and Americans really should take their ball and go home as it were.

What’s the point in wasting their time and energy after all?

There is none.

Perhaps that will cause the Palestinians to finally come to their senses.

Nothing else has.
