President Obama signed an Executive Order on August 30th authorizing additional financial sanctions on North Korea in an effort to stop the Koreans from building nuclear weapons. This reminds me of Einstein’s definition of insanity…”Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.” Albert was definitely a lot smarter and more perceptive than Barack. These sanctions have about as much chance of curbing North Korea’s nuclear ambitions as all the past ones had, e.g. none. You’d have thought he would have figured that out by now. You would also have thought he would have figured out that additional sanctions on Iran wouldn’t curb the Iranians nuclear ambitions either, anymore than past one’s have. Is Obama insane? Einstein would have thought so. Do you?

In his speech about Iraq on national television from the White House President Obama said that restoring the United States economy must now become his central responsibility as President. This is dead wrong and if he truly believes this he should be removed from office as soon as possible. Leaving aside the fact that the U.S. economy is in the dumpster largely as a result of his own failed policies and that any new initiatives he might come up with would only make things worse given his ideology and mentality, his central responsibility is the same as any other President’s, protecting the country and keeping it’s enemies at bay, e.g. national security. Nothing else is more important and there is no higher priority. If Obama doesn’t recognize and understand this he has no business being President and America is in deep trouble indeed, not that it isn’t already anyway mainly thanks to him. Maybe that’s why his national security endeavors have been disastrous and universally panned. He really doesn’t have much interest in it, isn’t very good at it and doesn’t see it as a priority, all of which have been mentioned many times by numerous commentators since he took office. What a revelation. It’s probably the most damning thing he’s said since he was elected and there has been no mention of it in the media whatsoever…I wonder why.

Like most Western nations, including the United States, Canada has a serious problem with homegrown and imported terrorists acting in the name of Islam who wish to turn the country into an Islamic state and who have no compunction about using violence to bring this goal to fruition. This incident has received blanket media coverage and will no doubt do so for some time. Perhaps this will lead to Canadians becoming aware of the threat Islam poses to their society and how far Islamization has already progressed in their country. I certainly hope so. Most of them haven’t got a clue right now.

To cite a personal example…earlier today I had a discussion about Islam with an acquaintance of mine who is bright, articulate, accomplished and who considers himself well informed about current events. He mouthed the usual platitudes about Islam and had no knowledge of it’s violent history, it’s actual teachings, the religious imperatives required of it’s followers or the bloody acts committed in it’s name every day throughout the world. In fact, he became quite upset when I pointed these things out to him and refused to believe that my comments contained even a modicum of truth. He also refused to ‘do his homework’ and investigate my assertions further through reading and studying various books and articles and following the trail as it were. The idea that there is any connection between Islam and terror was anathema to him.

Unfortunately, that’s very representative of the population in general, which is worrisome indeed.

General David Petraeus, Commander of United States and NATO forces in Afghanistan, is known to be at odds with the President on several important issues, including the deadline and Obama’s policy forbidding any link between terrorism and Islam.

When General Stanley McChrystal, the architect of America’s military success in Iraq and Petraeus’s predecessor in Afghanistan, was fired for critical remarks he made about Obama in an interview with Rolling Stone Magazine the President stated that division on his National Security Team would not be tolerated and that unity is obligatory, not optional.

Will Obama fire Generals Conway and Petraeus like he did General McChrystal? How many Generals can he fire anyway? What does this very public criticism by some of the highest ranking members of the American military really mean? Are we seeing the beginning of some sort of concerted effort by America’s military to politically weaken an already unpopular President who has been very damaging to the military itself and the national security of the country?

Good questions all.

President Obama and Secretary of State Clinton have to be delusional if they believe that the direct talks beginning in September have any hope of leading to a Palestinian state and peace between Israel and the Palestinians. Neither the Palestinians or anyone else in the Middle East is really interested in peace with Israel and Islam doesn’t allow it in any case. The Palestinians are fractious, divided, hateful and unrealistic as they always have been, the rest of the Arab world doesn’t want a Palestinian state and won’t permit one and Israel would have to jeopardize it’s national security in order to reach an agreement which wouldn’t be worth the paper it’s printed on. It’s not going to happen. In fact, there’s every possibility the talks won’t happen either because the likelihood that the Palestinians will walk away on some pretext is very high.

Iran has just built a long range unmanned bomber and dubbed it Karrar or striker. It has a range of 620 miles (1,000 kilometers) and can carry two 250 pound bombs or one precision bomb of 500 pounds. Iranians have also begun construction of two high speed vessels capable of launching missiles and torpedoes…all of this on top of their efforts to acquire nuclear weapons as soon as possible. They smell American weakness and lack of resolve and will continue to arm themselves to the teeth in order to establish their hegemony in the Middle East and wipe Israel off the map before going after the United States, the Great Satan. Only the Israeli military can stop them. The U.S. is not part of the equation. The Iranians believe that they have nothing to fear from the Americans because the United States under President Obama is too feckless and weak to recognize their true intent or take meaningful action against them. Israel versus Iran, coming in 2011 if not sooner. Bet on it.

Canadians in general have absolutely no knowledge or understanding of the true nature of Islam or the substantial threat it poses to their democratic, secular, free, Western, Judeo-Christian society. Their ignorance is appalling and is due in large part to the free ride the main stream media has given it. Critical articles and commentary have been virtually non-existent and there have been no stories about what it stands for and means to accomplish or about the horrible acts perpetrated in it’s name every day on people all over the world, including in Canada. Conversely, a completely distorted and false picture of what it is really all about has been presented to the public, which seems to have swallowed it whole. Canadians better wake up or Islamization in their country will have passed the point of no return and they will find themselves living under sharia law in an Islamic nation.

They tell us that these people have absolutely no respect for human life and that women, children, the elderly and the helpless are not immune from their brutality.

They tell us that we may be killed, mutilated, tortured, raped or any combination thereof regardless of any mitigating circumstances, that there are in fact no mitigating circumstances.

They tell us that disgust, contempt and hatred of Christians and Jews, Americans and Israelis, is visceral and bred in the bone.

They tell us that Islam is atavistic and is not compatible with a civilized, pluralistic society because of it’s beliefs and the demands it makes on it’s adherents.

Most important of all, they tell us what’s in our future unless we stop the Islamization of our society and keep it from making further inroads in our way of life. That’s the only thing which will prevent us from living in an Islamic country, with all of the attendant violence, degradation, misogyny, cruelty and death.

On August 13 the New York Times ran an article headlined “Obama Strongly Backs Islam Center Near 9/11 Site”, this in response to remarks he made at a White House dinner celebrating Ramadan which were reported all over the world. On August 14 the Times ran an article headlined “Obama Says Mosque Remarks Were Not Endorsement” in which he claimed his remarks were not about the proposed mosque at all but were about freedom of religion and American values in general.

A U.S. President has to have many important characteristics, chief among them being the ability to be resolute and strong. This is vital on a vast array of issues, including issues of great sensitivity which resonate with the American people, which the mosque controversy most certainly does. Equivocation is not an option…all it does is imply that the President is weak, can’t make up his or her mind, doesn’t really stand for anything, can’t be trusted, is trying to be all things to all people, is willing to play politics with anyone and anything and can’t be counted on in the clutch, can’t be counted to make difficult decisions or take difficult actions as it were.

That is certainly the way President Obama is seen internationally by virtually everyone he has dealt with, which is very regrettable. Among other things it means our enemies around the world will continue to take advantage of us and our allies and jeopardize our national security and way of life because our President doesn’t have the mentality or stomach to stand up to them. Our domestic enemies see him that way too, which is one of the major reasons why Islamization is so prevalent and why the country is divided in so many ways.

Like I said, equivocation is not an option. Come on Mr. President, tell us which headline is true and what you really think about the mosque.

The point is, despite it’s many warts and despite the incredibly difficult conditions that Israelis have to constantly live with the country is progressive, vibrant, alive and forward thinking. Joy, happiness, music, literature, theater and vigorous debate on any and all subjects abound and democracy and freedom flourish. Israel is an outward looking country that has made enormous contributions to humanity in her short life span and promises to make many more as time goes by. Society and culture there glorify life and revel in it, as opposed to glorifying and reveling in death.

This is in sharp contrast to Palestinian society and culture, to Palestinian’s daily lives. To quote from an earlier piece, “Their standard of living is nowhere near Israeli’s, their accomplishments in the international arena are miniscule in comparison, their society is beset by hatred, violence, anger, misogyny and a misplaced sense of victimhood, their institutions are riddled with corruption and incompetence, they are not in control of their own destiny and are dependent on the outside world for virtually everything they need to live and they are a stateless, badly educated, poverty stricken people.” They are under the thumbs of thugs and villains, are not free to think and speak as they wish, are denied many of the small pleasures of life and have to worry about being spirited away in the middle of the night to be beaten up or killed because of some real or imagined transgression. Their lives are strictly controlled and the rest of the Arab world sees them as nothing more than pawns and useful idiots. Their religion, Islam, is all pervasive and glorifies and revels in death, as opposed to glorifying and reveling in life.

Life and death. Two polar opposite visions. That’s the difference between Israelis and Palestinians.

Guess what would have happened if La Metropole published a cartoon depicting a devout Muslim taxi driver driving a cab labelled Taxi de Muhammad and calling out Come in! May Allah be with you, under the headline A taxi transformed into a…mosque?

Canada would have had it’s very own Danish cartoon episode, that’s what.

Pathetic and disturbing isn’t it? Crazy too.

The root of the conflict is revealed when the Palestinian mother “blurts out that she hopes her son will grow up to be a suicide bomber to help recover Jerusalem.” She exposes the conflict’s essence when she says “From the smallest infant, even smaller than Mohammed, to the oldest person, we will all save ourselves for the sake of Jerusalem. We feel we have the right to it. You’re free to be angry, so be angry.” This after her small son’s life was saved by Israeli Doctors in an Israeli hospital at no expense to her or her family.

Nothing will change between Israel and it’s neighbors until that attitude does. There is no hope of ending conflict in the Middle East until Palestinians recognize and accept Israel’s legitimate right to exist and stop trying to murder and maim Israelis and wipe the country off the map. Nothing else will suffice.

Parents who actually care more about their children than an ideology of death would be good people to get the ball rolling.
