The intentions are clear all right, Re: Iran’s Intentions Are Clear, International Herald Tribune/New York Times, March 30, 2010

Tuesday, March 30th, 2010

Iran’s intentions are clear all right but they are not simply to acquire nuclear weapons as Mr. Sherman asserts.

It’s initial intention is to use those weapons to attack Israel and remove it from the face of the earth.

After Israel is obliterated Iran’s possession of nuclear weapons will enable it to establish it’s hegemony in the Middle East and beyond, which it no doubt will attempt to do. Anyone who thinks Iran will stop with Israel is sadly mistaken. Israel may be the Little Satan but the Great Satan is the United States and a nuclear armed Iran will severely compromise American security, to put it extremely mildly.

The Israelis are well aware of this and will launch a preemptive strike in due course because they know full well that nothing else will prevent Iran from acquiring and using nuclear weapons, not sanctions, threats, isolation, diplomacy, peace between them and the Palestinians, nothing. They will attack and destroy Iran’s nuclear facilities in the name of self preservation and national survival, but they will also be doing everyone else a tremendous favor as well. The Arab world recognizes and understands this and will applaud them for doing so, privately if not publicly. Conversely, it will excoriate the United States for not doing so. Weakness is not a trait that is admired in the Middle East and the U.S. will be seen as very weak indeed.

Hopefully the United States will also applaud them, although with President Obama at the helm I wouldn’t count on it. He’ll probably just try and take credit for the operation.

Even more hopefully Israel and the Arab world will be able to convince the U.S. to take military action against the Iranians because they will be able to make it see that destroying Iran’s nuclear facilities is the only way to keep a nuclear armed Iran from becoming a reality and that America will greatly benefit from launching an attack on it’s own.

With President Obama at the helm I wouldn’t count on that either.

Thanks in advance Israel.

It took them this long to figure that out?, Re: Lack of ME peace affects US, Jerusalem Post, March 25, 2010

Thursday, March 25th, 2010

So the Obama administration has finally figured out that “Israeli-Palestinian tensions are affecting US national security interests in the region.”

Brilliant! What will it discover next, that the earth travels around the sun instead of the other way around?

Now if the administration will place the blame firmly and squarely where it belongs, on Palestinians and the wider Arab world, we might start getting someplace.

Ann Coulter in Canada, Re: Just who’s guilty of a hate crime?, National Post, March 24, 2010

Wednesday, March 24th, 2010

The thugs and intellectual midgets who prevented Ann Coulter from speaking at the University of Ottawa don’t believe in freedom of expression or free speech. They believe in shouting down and shutting up anyone who doesn’t fit into their uniform, politically correct, limited universe and are an affront to thinking, freedom loving people everywhere. Thinking is the last thing they do…they are easily led, easily manipulated, conformists and fascists who are unable to respond knowledgeably, intelligently or articulately to views other than their own and their hatred for people who are not of their ilk is palpable.

Free speech is not something that is welcomed or embraced. It is feared and loathed.

Trite little brownshirts is a description that comes to mind. Their behaviour is completely unacceptable in a society that values freedom and the unfettered exchange of ideas and must be denounced and stopped in it’s tracks. If it isn’t each and every one of us will  be forcibly required to stay within strict ideological parameters in all of our public utterances and freedom in Canada will be a thing a thing of the past.

Ann Coulter was right when she called the University of Ottawa bush league and censured it’s students.  Their behaviour was disgusting, revolting and alarming and they more than deserve all the criticisn that comes their way.

Some things are entirely predictable-the real meaning of Obamacare, Re: Obamacare will haunt Democrats for years to come, American Thinker, March 22, 2010

Tuesday, March 23rd, 2010

President Obama’s unrelenting quest to transform health care in the United States and the tactics he used to get Obamacare passed were exceedingly dumb political exercizes.

The passage of Obamacare was not a triumph for Obama and the Democrats at all. It is exactly the opposite. It guarantees that Obama will be a one term President and that most if not all of the Deomocrats who voted for the legislation will be tossed out in the upcoming mid-term elections. It also guarantees that the Democratic Party will be tainted and viewed with suspicion and mistrust for many years, which will of course significantly reduce the chances of Democratic candidates getting elected to anything, least of all high office. Obamacare is so hated and the methods Obama used to get it passed so unsavory that Democrats may not be able to recover for a generation or two, at least. Obama will never recover and his days as an elected politician will be over when his term ends in 2012.

An astute politician would have recognized and understood this and not sacrificed his career and party on the altar of hubris, as Obama just did.

Republicans shouldn’t feel dejected because they couldn’t stop Obamacare from being passed. They should rejoice because Obama and the Democrats have committed political suicide. They won’t even have to work very hard to keep the issue before the public because the reasons why people found Obamacare so objectionable in the first place will do that for them. There will be court challenges, huge new government expenditures, higher taxes, diminished medical care, daily bureaucratic horror stories, regular cuts in government programs, the lot, all of which will serve as constant reminders that Obama and the Democrats were responsible for this unholy mess and the Republicans fought it every inch of the way. It’s a shame that real health care reform in the U.S. is further away than ever but Americans will blame Obama and the Democrats for that too, rightfully so.

Yes, some things are entirely predictable.

What else can we expect?

We can expect to see more of Obama the tyrant and more of Obama the know- it-all. Now that he has “succeeded” with Obamacare, his pride will be even more puffed up and he will be that much more insufferable and difficult to constrain. Foreign policy, particularly the Middle East, is the next major area he will turn to, and we can expect him to take a much more personal role in trying to secure a peace agreement between Israel and the Palestinians…he will try and bully his way into a peace agreement and impose his will on Israelis, even if this compromises their security.

We can also expect the number and scale of terrorist attacks on Americans at home and abroad to increase, that Islamization in the United States will become more prevalent and that America’s stature in the world will continue to erode.

As his Presidency winds down we will see him become more and more angry, impatient and disdainful as the folly of his domestic and foreign policies become apparent to all and as his colleagues desert him in droves, like rats leaving a sinking ship. He will blame everybody but himself for his failures and may even resign rather than accept the verdict of the voters. That after all is what bullies do when they are well and truly exposed…they slink away.

Even though it won’t be pretty America will survive and rebound and recover and so will Israel. On the other hand, Obama will forever be seen as a pompous windbag, thug and discredited boy wonder who was in way over his head and it will take a Herculean long term effort for the Democratic Party to resurrect itself and become a credible political force.

Those are some small consolations I suppose.

Islam 101, Re: Why does America have to be the world’s policeman?, March 19, 2010

Friday, March 19th, 2010

Not very long ago a young friend of mine asked me why America has to be the world’s policeman? I told her the answer was two fold and simple…Islam and preservation of Western Civilization.

Let’s discuss Islam first.

Any discussion of Islam has to start with it’s violent nature and history. Violence is at the very core of the religion and violence is something true believers have to adhere to. The Quran requires violence of all Muslims and leaves them absolutely no choice in the matter. Quran 9:5, Quran 9:112, 8:39, 8:65, 9:38 and 47:4 are all examples of this and there are many others as well. In fact, there are at least 109 verses in the Quran espousing violence, especially against non believers, many of them very graphic. No, Islam is anything but a peaceful religion. Violence is it’s central dynamic and violent men and acts are revered and venerated.

Here is some other basic information.

Islam’s purpose is to destroy all non-Islamic societies and to have everyone on earth live under Islamic rule and Islamic law, Sharia. Again, this comes straight from the Quran and there is no room for interpretation or dissent. The Quran is the literal word of God (Allah) as revealed to his prophet, Muhammad, and it is to be obeyed, not questioned or challenged.

There is no respect or tolerance for people of other faiths or beliefs in Islam. Non believers are seen as enemies of Allah and must either be forced to submit, killed or used for some Islamic purpose. Islam does much more than disdain non believers or see them as unworthy. It is unalterably opposed to their existence and justifies any act that leads to their conversion, subjugation or elimination. After all, non believers are infidels and beneath contempt, nothing more, and fair game for anything.

There is no concept of the separation of church and state in Islam. The Quran is seen as the highest authority in all matters and Muslims are required to live under it’s guidance and authority, even if this contravenes civil law or the customs of a secular society. Everyone must submit to the dictates of the Quran, regardless of whether these agree with the law of the land or not. Islam means submission and a true believer is one who submits. There is no such thing as a true believer who doesn’t submit to the demands of the Quran in all matters, even if it means they cannot conform to civil law or practice.

Islam permits lying under certain circumstances. Lying in Islam takes one of two forms, taqiyya or kitman. Taqiyya is saying something that isn’t true and kitman is lying by ommission, telling only part of the truth. Both are rooted in the Quran and may be used against non believers as circumstances arise.

Under Sharia, people who insult Muhammad or Allah, desecrate the Quran or commit other acts of blasphemy are to be killed. Mocking, criticizing, doubting, indeed anything that can be taken as lacking respect or not being suitably deferential may be seen as insulting and result in death. Muslims get upset and angry if Muhammad or Allah are treated as anything les than divine and perfect and Islam makes their response obligatory. Freedom of speech or freedom of expression simply does not exist.

Islam is a religion that is frozen in time. It has no ability to evolve or progress or develop. The Quran is the perfect, immutable, unchangeable word of Allah as sent down to man through the Prophet Muhammad. Man must live according to it’s dictates or suffer terrible consequences. It is perfection personified and not following it’s instructions is proscribed and viewed as disavowing and attacking Allah. There is no freedom of choice for true believers. Unconditional submission to the will of Allah as laid out in the Quran is mandatory. Since the Quran came into existence in the mid seventh century a.d. Muslims are, in effect required to live according to a 1300 year instruction manual that has gone virtually unchanged in all that time.

Two more points before we go on and discuss America’s role as the world’s policeman.

Islam is a religion of hatred and insularity locked into a seventh century mindset. It’s raison d’etre is conquest and turning the world into an Islamic caliphate. It is completely uncompromising and violence is it’s calling card. Anything that serves an Islamic purpose is condoned and any action by a Muslim has to be seen in this context, especially if that person is devout.

Terrorists, Islamists, Jihadists or any other Muslim who commits atrocities in the name of Islam have not hijacked the religion or misunderstood or distorted it’s doctrine. Theologically, they are absolutely correct. This is one of two reasons why Muslims in general don’t refute their behaviour. Theologically, they haven’t got a leg to stand on. There is also a fear factor. Because of the nature of Islam their lives and the lives of their families could easily be in great danger if they did, which is something even ordinary, non devout Muslims are well aware of.

Let me close this section with three quotes, one from Churchill, one from Ghandi and one from Geert Wilders.

Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith. No stronger retrograde force exists in the World. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step(…) the civilization of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilization of ancient Rome. 1899.

While Hindus, Sikhs, Christians, Parsees, and Jews, along with several million adherents of an animistic religion, all coexisted in relative harmony, one religion that would not accept compromise stood out from the rest: Islam.

Geert Wilders.

Ladies and gentlemen, I don’t have a problem and my party does not have a problem with Muslims as such. There are many moderate Muslims. The majority of Muslims are law-abiding citizens and want to live a peaceful life as you and I do. I know that. That is why I always make a clear distinction between the people, the Muslims, and the ideology, between Islam and Muslims. There are many moderate Muslims, but there is no such thing as a moderate Islam.

And now, on to America….

The question we began this with is “why does America have to be the world’s policeman?” The answer is clear….someone has to be if Western Civilization is to survive and no one else has the strength or resources or mentality to carry out this role globally. Regardless of whether you recognize it or not there is a war going on between Islam and the West and the United States has to lead the West because it has the most powerful military on earth along with moral authority that is second to none. It is also the only Western country that is secure enough in it’s own skin to take on the role.

What a policeman really does is protect and only the U.S. can protect Western Civilization around the world because it is the only country strong enough to do so. Islam is seeking to destroy Western Civilization and rule the world and the West is fighting to prevent this and survive. What other country is more representative of Western Civilization and has the muscle to defend it? Who else is supposed to lead us, the Brits, the Germans, the French? Canadians? Come on now. There are any number of observers who believe that Europe is already lost and that it will become an Islamic continent in the next generation or two. Londonistan in 2030 anyone? There is also a large and growing group of people who understand that Islamization is a serious threat in North America as well and that Canadians don’t have the wit or strength of character to stop it.

And no, I am not being apocalyptic or alarmist and all you have to do is open your eyes and look around to realize this. Look at what Islamization is doing to countries in Europe and how it has fundamentally changed the nature and character of the continent. Look at the inroads it is making in Canada and the United States and at incidents that have occurred on Canadian and American soil, including mass murder, murder and attempted murder, mass and otherwise, attacks on the cultural fabric of the two countries and constant demands for change and accommodation. Look at the violence that is perpetrated against Westerners and their institutions in the name of Islam every single day throughout the world. Look at the Middle East. That’s not apocalyptic or alarmist. That’s reality.

Islam and the West have been implacable foes for centuries and that is why America has to be the world’s policeman in this day and age. No one else can get the job done. Our survival and the survival of Western Civilization depend on the Americans. Without putting too fine a point on it, if not for them you’d be in a burqua and I’d have my head chopped off.

Thanks to the Islamization that has already occurred here I might get my head chopped off anyway or some such thing. Look at what happened to Theo van Gogh in Holland and don’t think for one minute it can’t happen here too. In fact, don’t think for one minute it isn’t happening here.

Hope that answers your question….

The message to Israel is unmistakably clear, Re: Driving Drunk in Jerusalem, International Herald Tribune/New York Times, March 13, 2010

Monday, March 15th, 2010

There is one message and one message only that Israelis must take from the Obama administrations hostile and inane actions directed towards their country, including the rebukes and demands which resulted from the announcement about the plan to build housing units in East Jerusalem which came during Vice President Biden’s recent trip. The message is unmistakably clear. Israel cannot trust or depend on the U.S. to protect or defend it and the country’s viability and survival are entirely in it’s own hands.

Simply put, the United States will not do anything substantive to bring Palestinians to the negotiating table and negotiate seriously and in good faith, it will not do anything substantive to diminish or remove the threat posed by Hamas, Hezbollah and the Arab world in general and it will certainly not do anything substantive to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons, nor will it retaliate when, not if, when, the Iranians attack Israel with them.

The U.S. commitment to Israel is no longer unconditional. It rests on the vagaries of politics and is subject to the machinations of an ideologically driven President with a peevish, weak, calculating personality and an abominable ignorance about the real causes of conflict in the Middle East…a President who is unable or unwilling to deal with them constructively…a President who doesn’t recognize America’s best interests, never mind Israel’s, and who hasn’t got the toughness to act on them even if he did.

Nothing to trust or depend on there.

All of which guarantees that Israel will, among other things, launch a preemptive strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities in an effort to prevent it’s own obliteration. Soon.

Thanks Barack. It really didn’t have to come to that.

Islamization a real threat in Canada, Re: Canadian values vs. niqabs, National Post, March 12, 2010

Friday, March 12th, 2010

On no account should religious or cultural activities that are not compatible with Canadian values and customs be allowed to override and replace our way of doing things. We live in a Judeo-Christian, free, democratic, secular society and if we want to keep it that way we must resist and overcome those among us who would have us change to accommodate their beliefs and practices as opposed to their changing to accommodate ours.

This has particular relevance when one looks at the disastrous impact Islamization has had in Europe and at the inroads it is making here. If we are not vigilant and vigorous in defending our way of life and the foundation it is built on our cities will become versions of Londonistan and we will find ourselves living in the Islamic Republic of Canadastan or some such thing. That is what Islamization does. It leads to the erosion and removal of western freedom and fosters Islam’s preemminence and in the end, domination.

Which of course is what Islam is all about. Dominating and subjugating non believers.

That is why the decision in Quebec to have the Muslim student remove her veil in French language class or drop out of the course was absolutely correct, despite her protestations and the resulting furor in the Islamic and multicultural community. When she refused to remove her veil in class even though an uncovered face was a course obligation she effectively said ‘my religious and cultural requirements are the most important thing here and have to take precedence over anything else…it is your job to meet my needs, not my job to meet yours…you have to change, not me’ and so on. It doesn’t take much imagination to see where this would have led if she was allowed to get her way. What would have come next, an insistence that female Muslims only be taught by female Muslim teachers or an insistence that female Muslims only attend schools in which no males are present? Where would we have gone after that? The mind boggles.

School and government officials who stood their ground should be congratulated and commended. We can only hope that their courageous example will be emulated in the many battles to come, not only in Quebec but in the rest of Canada as well.

Courageous example? That’s right. Islamization is already a fact of life in Canada and if you don’t believe me try satirizing or skewering Islam or the Prophet Muhammad in public and see what happens.

There’s no such thing as a free lunch Joe, Re: Biden: Palestinians deserve ‘viable’ state, The Guardian, March 10, 2010

Wednesday, March 10th, 2010

Not without being willing and able to act constructively to get it they don’t.

Which of course has always been the problem.

Still is.

Reassurances don’t mean anything, Re: Biden reassures Israel on Teheran, Jerusalem Post, March 9, 2010

Wednesday, March 10th, 2010

American Vice President Joe Biden said yesterday that “our absolute, total, unvarnished commitment to Israel’s security” was the cornerstone of the U.S. Israeli relationship.

Rhetoric is nice but what does this actually mean?

The greatest single threat to Israel’s security is Iran’s acquisition of nuclear weapons. Does this mean the United States will attack Iran when it launches nuclear armed missiles at Israel, or take serious measures to prevent Iran from becoming a nuclear power in the first place? The Iranians don’t believe that so why should the Israelis?

Hamas and Hezbollah threaten Israel’s security. Does this mean that the U.S. will do everything it can to curb their power and support Israel militarily and economically when, not if, when, they begin yet another war? Is this something Israel can depend on?

Palestinians also pose a security threat to Israel. Is the Obama administration willing to convince them that it is squarely in Israel’s corner and that there will be no American support for a Palestinian state or anything else until they start acting in good faith, recognize and accept Israel’s right to exist and allow Israelis to live in peace, free from the constant attacks that are a part of their daily lives? Since the rest of the Arab world is unalterably opposed to Israel’s existence and also threatens it’s security is the United states prepared to convince it as well?

Will America respond militarily if Arab armies attack Israel?

Is American support for Israel truly unconditional or does it hinge on other things, like politics or economics or personal agendas or personal characteristics like President Obama’s spinelessness and arrogance and impatience?

Sorry Joe – Israel has to view your reassurance with a great deal of skepticism and cynicism and act accordingly. Thanks to Obama America is no longer believable or trustworthy and Israel of all countries cannot rely on it for deterrence or security.

Neither of course can anyone else. Pay attention South Korea, Taiwan, Japan, Eastern Europe Obama is more than capable of abandoning Israel, which means he would do the same to you to.

What’s the point in asking?, Re: Can the US broker Middle East peace?, BBC News Website, March 9, 2010

Tuesday, March 9th, 2010

The BBC should stop asking ridiculous questions like this because the answer is self-evident and exactly the same as it would have been since Israel first came into existence, actually since long before Israel came into existence. It is a clear, unequivocal no. The reason hasn’t changed in all that time either. It’s because neither Palestinians or the rest of the Arab world are remotely interested in peace. All they are really interested in is the destruction of Israel and its removal from the face of the earth.

Peace? That’s the last thing Palestinians and the wider Arab world want now or have ever wanted. There could have been peace in the Middle East decades ago if they were willing to recognize and accept Israels right to exist, guarantee its security, stop launching wars against it and stop trying to maim and kill Israelis on a virtual daily basis. Peace will not come until those things happen, regardless of efforts by the United States or anyone else.

The BBC should also refrain from asking questions about a Palestinian state. The Palestinians could have had their own state decades ago as well and the reasons they don’t are all tied in with the above….a refusal to live in peaceful co-existence with Israel, an abiding desire to wipe it off the map and ongoing efforts to do just that. For the BBC’s information a Palestinian state simply won’t happen until those things change, no matter what the US or other countries do.

Here’s a question for the BBC.

Why have Palestinians and the rest of the Arab world been so opposed to peace and the creation of a Palestinian state?

Answer it knowledgeably and honestly and you’ll see that their plight is really their own fault and that they have no one to blame but themselves for the situation they find themselves in. You’ll also see that the solution lies entirely in their hands.

Here’s another question.

When will the rest of the world recognize this, get fed up with them and leave them to wallow in their own bile until real change takes place?

Not much longer I suspect.
