Simply facing the truth about Islam and terrorism is not enough, Re: Face the truth about Islam and terrorism, Toronto Sun, September 6, 2014

Monday, September 8th, 2014

The following article by Michael Coren appeared in the September 6, 2014 edition of the Toronto Sun.

I have taken the unusual step of posting it on this site because I firmly believe Coren is absolutely correct, because it really struck a chord with me and because I really hope it strikes a chord with my readers as well.

Especially on the eve of the anniversary of 9/11.

Here we go.

Only a bigot believes that all Muslims are terrorists, but only a fool believes there is no link between Islam and terrorism.

Yet as still another innocent person is beheaded and paraded before the world, there are two odious coalitions that refuse the embrace or admit the truth.

The first is in some ways easier to deal with. This dark gang includes Islamic fundamentalists, anti-Zionist and anti-Semitic fanatics, haters of the West and in particular the United States and hard left extremists who believe all violence and instability aids their cause.

The second is more complex and nuanced. This alliance involves the cowardly, the absurdly naive, the usefully stupid, the relativist deniers and those who due to good will or a total lack of historical consciousness believe all religions are the same and if only everybody had high speed Internet and a full belly we could all dance together into the sunset.

There are in fact four stages involved in the denial of Islamic terror. The first is where we empty our heads. The second is where we bury our heads. The third is where we bow our heads. The fourth is where we lose our heads.

The first three are metaphorical, the last is literal.

The first stage involves ignorance. We assume Islamic violence is all our fault because of, for example, the Crusades.

This is what I call the Kevin Costner school of history.

In the movie Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, dashing Kev tells us that his dad thought it wrong to convert people to another religion. Quite so, but Robin’s dad obviously knew little of the Crusades because they never tried to convert Muslims and were a direct response to 300 years of Islamic violence in the Holy Land. They were a product of Islamic brutality, not its cause.

From the Crusades we blame imperialism, even though the major empire of the Islamic world was Turkish and Muslim; we blame Israel; we blame George Bush; we blame everyone and everything other than the genuine article.

The second stage is an attempt to ignore what is going on, to pretend if we are sufficiently indifferent it will all disappear and we can return to our Netflix and HBO and be terribly smug and clever in our own cocoons of moribund complacency.

Next is submission, where we become subservient to an Islamic ascendancy that takes the shape of anti-racism, anti-Islamophobia, liberalism and a bewildering belief that Christianity is oppressive and reactionary and perhaps Islam really does have quite a lot to offer if we give it enough time and thought.

Finally comes, well, the decapitation of the few followed by the political and moral decapitation of the many.

If you doubt me, ask Arab Christians how quickly the Islamic cringing minority becomes the angry, demanding group insisting that their rights and sensitivities triumph over all other feelings and aspirations.

This not about individual Muslims, but about an Islamism that runs directly contrary to progress, human rights, sexual and gender equality, pluralism, independent opinion and individual, scientific and ethical advancement.

The blades are hovering quite close now, closer than you might imagine.

That’s the end of the article.

Suffice it to say that the link between Islam and terrorism is well and truly established and is beyond dispute.

Suffice it to say that the Islamization of every single Western country there is, including Canada and the United States, is well and truly underway.

Suffice it to say that in many places in the West the barbarians are not only at the gate they are well beyond it.

Suffice it to say that simply facing up to the truth about Islam and terrorism is not enough.

Suffice it to say that if Western countries want to survive as free, democratic, independent nations they must fight Islamic terrorism, fight the Islamization that is being foisted on them, with every means at their disposal.

Suffice it to say that if individual Westerners want to survive as free, independent, thinking human beings they must do the same.

The blades really are quite close you know and time really is of the essence.

So, by all means, face the truth about Islam and terrorism.

Then do something about it.

Thank you Michael.

It needs a lot more than that, Re: The World Needs a Clarion, Wall Street Journal, September 4, 2014

Saturday, September 6th, 2014

The world needs a lot more than a clarion about ridding itself of ISIS.

Because talk is cheap that’s why.

Because clarion calls by themselves don’t mean a thing.

Because rhetoric is meaningless unless its backed up by action, unless whoever is spouting the rhetoric is willing to back up their words with action, real action.

Everybody in the world knows that.

ISIS certainly knows that.

ISIS knows that no matter what Obama says, no matter how much he denounces and condemns its behaviour, no matter how much he threatens it, he is not going to take meaningful action against it.

ISIS knows that it can keep on beheading Americans, keep on committing atrocities of the most unspeakable kind in Syria, Iraq, the Middle East and beyond, keep on spreading its poison in the West and the United States, keep on preparing to commit mass murder in the West and the United States, keep on threatening the very existence of the West and the United States and keep on being a blight on humanity without fear of retaliation by Obama and the United States.

ISIS knows that the overwhelming use of force by the United States military, including U.S. boots on the ground, is the only thing that can really hurt it, can stop it, can destroy it. It also knows that that simply isn’t going to happen as long as Obama is President and that it has nothing to fear from the U.S. as long as he’s in office. After all, he talks a good game and is very good at rhetoric and issuing clarion calls but that’s as far as it goes and doesn’t mean anything at all because he won’t unleash the American military, which is the one thing he can to really hurt it, to stop it, to destroy it.

So, if you’re American, look forward to more Americans being beheaded, look forward to ISIS continuing to spread its poison in the United States and look forward to ISIS committing mass murder in the U.S. itself, possibly as soon as next week, the 13th anniversary of 9/11. If you’re European or live elsewhere in the West look for ISIS to continue to bring its poison to you too. And if you’re in Syria or Iraq or elsewhere in the Middle East look for ISIS to keep on doing exactly what it has been doing.

And if you want to get angry at someone or something besides ISIS get angry at Obama. He could have prevented this all along and can still prevent it.

Only he hasn’t and he won’t.

The world needs a lot more than a clarion alright.

It needs Obama to act unilaterally and unleash the full might of the United States military to stop and destroy ISIS because nothing else will do the trick.

Americans need to force him to do exactly that and force him out of office if he won’t.

They need him to shut up and put up.

They need America to declare war against ISIS just as ISIS has declared war against America, not to mention the rest of the West and the rest of humanity too.

While they still have their heads…metaphorically and literally.

The scourge of political correctness, Re: When Political Correctness Comes at a Terrible Cost, Commentary Magazine, September 2, 2014

Tuesday, September 2nd, 2014

Rotherham is a city in northern England. Between 1997 and 2013 some 1,400 young girls, including some as young as eleven, were exploited sexually while authorities ignored their plight. The girls were groomed, raped and used to satisfy the sexual desires of their tormentors. The sexual exploitation was systematic, organized and widespread. All of the victims were white and virtually all of the perpetrators were Pakistani men. Police, social workers, local government employees and other officials who were well aware of the abuse that was taking place swept it under the rug, kept silent and refused to do anything about it because they didn’t want to be accused of being racist. The few who did try and do something about it were attacked, threatened and vilified. It was political correctness run amuck and the lives of thousands of British girls were ruined because of it. Rape and gang rape became a part of their life and woe betide any of them who tried to break away. Those are the facts of the matter.

It is also a fact that political correctness is rampant in Britain, that it has been rampant for many years and that it is becoming more rampant every day. The tragedy in Rotherham is just today’s example of how pernicious, destructive and evil it can be, how pernicious, destructive and evil it is. There will be more examples tomorrow and more examples the day after and so on because it is pervasive throughout British society. It is no exaggeration to say that it is negatively affecting every aspect of British life and preventing the British from dealing with or even discussing many of the serious problems in Britain because Brits who do speak out on issues and problems such as the ongoing, rapid Islamization of their country or multiculturalism or ethnic crime or the suppression of British values or some such things are attacked, threatened and vilified just like their fellows in Rotherham were.

In fact, if you are British and living in Britain try raising concerns about the ongoing, rapid Islamization of the country or multiculturalism or ethnic crime or the suppression of British values or some such things and see what happens. It won’t be pretty, you can be assured of that. At the very least you will be accused of being racist or Islamophobic and the consequences could well be much more severe than that. Without excusing the police, social workers, local government employees and other officials in Rotherham in any way, shape or form its no wonder they kept their mouths shut and failed to act.

Its not just Britain of course that is infected by the poison of political correctness. Its not just Britain of course that suffers from its deleterious effects, although the problem is arguably more deep-rooted and serious there than it is in the rest of the West. It really is a scourge everywhere in the West and it is a scourge that must be dealt with if Western values and institutions, you know like freedom and democracy, and the Western way of life are to be preserved and are to survive, if countless lives aren’t going to be ruined like those of the young girls of Rotherham were, if other Rotherhams aren’t going to occur again and again.

Political correctness.

Two of the most odious words in the English language.

Political correctness.

One of the most odious phenomenons in all our lives.

It behooves us all to reject it.

In memory of Rotherham if nothing else.

Unless its changed Obama’s can’t-do attitude will end up turning the U.S. into the Middle East, Re: A can’t-do attitude, Washington Post, August 31, 2014

Monday, September 1st, 2014

President Obama thinks that the United States can’t do anything to defeat ISIS in the Middle East or prevent it from bringing its poisonous, inhuman, barbaric, savage and utterly unacceptable and incomprehensible ideology, philosophy and activities to the U.S. homeland.

Last Thursday Obama admitted that his administration has no strategy for dealing with ISIS.

This despite the fact that ISIS poses a clear and present danger to the existence of the United States, despite the fact that ISIS is growing bigger, stronger and more capable every day, despite the fact that it has repeated ad infinitum that it hates America and Americans and that it intends to bring terror, destruction and death to the U.S. on the way to turning America into an Islamic country governed by Sharia, Islamic law, and making it part of a worldwide Islamic Caliphate, despite the fact that it has committed innumerable atrocities and war crimes in Syria and Iraq (including mass murder) and would commit the same atrocities and war crimes in America too, despite the fact that the rest of the free, civilized, Western world has recognized ISIS for what it is and for the threat it poses to everyone and despite the fact that ISIS has made no secret of what is in store for America and Americans unless it is defeated.

Let me repeat that last bit…and despite the fact that ISIS has made no secret of what is in store for America and Americans unless it is defeated.

ISIS is the biggest, most substantial threat to America and Americans since the end of the last cold war and it is a threat that is getting closer to realization every moment.

And Obama has admitted that he has no strategy to deal with it.

That is a patent, flat out lie.

You can bet that the Pentagon has a clear, well-fined, comprehensive strategy encompassing a number of options for dealing with ISIS and that it has all been presented to Obama.

When Obama said that he has no strategy for dealing with ISIS he meant that he has no military strategy, which simply isn’t the truth. He does have a strategy at his disposal, he does have options at his disposal. The problem is that the strategy and options all involve unleashing the United States military and he refuses to even consider them. Obama meant that he has no political strategy at his disposal, which is true and will remain forever true, given the players and ideology, Islam, involved. That is not the same thing at all as saying that he has no strategy or options at his disposal. He does. He just refuses to use them, that’s all.

Well guess what Barack…unleashing the full weight of the American military is the only thing that will defeat ISIS in the Middle East and prevent it from coming to America, prevent it from committing small and large scale terrorist attacks in America itself, prevent it from committing the same atrocities in America that it is committing in Iraq, Syria and beyond. Reality and history are very, clear about that, reality and history tell you exactly that. You have to use the sword to stop the sword. Period.

Can’t do it you say?

Of course you can.

Of course you must.

And soon.

Before rivers of blood start flowing in American towns and cities, just like they are flowing in Middle Eastern ones.
