Canadians can no longer speak freely or express themselves freely, Re: Censorship by any other name, National Post, February 28, 2013

The Supreme Court of Canada just took away Canadian’s right to express themselves fully and freely by placing limits on their freedom of speech and freedom of expression.

If Canadians express themselves in any way, shape or form that may expose an aggrieved person or group to hatred or that may lead to an aggrieved person or group being harmed they may be hauled before a Human Rights Commission and suffer terrible consequences, including financial and emotional ruin. Note the word may and take note of how vague it is…in fact, in this day of thin skins and political correctness run amuck even the most innocuous or innocent descriptive expression about anyone or anything can be construed as exposing them to hatred or exposing them to harm in some way…and will be too.

As for questioning, criticizing, refuting, exposing , speaking out against or fighting against someone or something Canadians can forget about doing any of that no matter how knowledgeable they are about the subject and no matter whatever they express is true or not Questioning, criticizing, refuting, exposing, speaking out against or fighting against someone or something can also be construed as possibly exposing an aggrieved person or group to hatred or possibly leading to an aggrieved person or group being harmed in some way and anyone who does anything like that can easily have their life ruined by the Human Rights Commission apparatchiks.

As for mocking, ridiculing, satirizing or joking about someone or something…any of that is now verboten in Canada.as well.

Unfettered freedom of speech and freedom of expression are two cornerstones of free countries. No country can call itself free and no free country will remain free for long if limits are placed on its citizens right and ability to express themselves fully and freely. The Supreme Court of Canada just removed Canada from the ranks of free countries by placing these limits on Canadians. The decision is beyond disgraceful, idiotic, shortsighted and abhorrent…it is also suicidal. Canadians better do everything they can to get it overturned because if they don’t freedom and democracy will disappear entirely from the country, because whatever freedom they have left won’t be around for long.

What’s next, taking away Canadians right to think, their freedom to think?

Not that Human Rights Commission apparatchiks or their apologists and other useful idiots, like the Supreme Court Justices who stripped Canadians of their right to express themselves fully and freely, do think though.

Fools.
