Here are twelve random thoughts I’ve had so far this month, December 2013
December 7 was the seventy-second anniversary of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, “a date which will live in infamy.” Thousands of Americans were killed and the Pacific Fleet was virtually destroyed in the attack, which came as a complete surprise to the American people and propelled America into World War Two. Thanks to President Barack Hussein Obama’s stupidity, fecklessness and wanton disregard for American lives one of these days in the not too distant future Iran is going to launch ballistic missiles capped with nuclear warheads against America and thousands…hundreds of thousands…millions…of Americans are going to die as a result. It will happen sooner or later as sure as I’m writing this and as sure as you’re reading it. That will come as a complete surprise to the American people too. Unless of course the Israelis do the only thing possible to keep nuclear weapons out of the Iranian’s hands and attack Iran first, in which case they will not only have saved themselves and their country but Americans and America as well. Obama sure as hell isn’t going to save them, or America either, that’s for certain.
President Obama has vowed to spend the remaining three years of his Presidency concentrating on improving the economy in the United States, on reducing economic inequality and improving upward mobility. Terrific. Obama spent the first five years of his Presidency ruining the American economy and practically destroying it and now he wants to spend his last three years fixing what he wrecked in the first place. Does he have any new ideas or initiatives or policies to fix it, to return the economy to its former strength? No he does not. All he wants to do is more of the same, all he wants to do is keep on carrying out the same policies and practices which have brought the economy to its knees to begin with, all he wants to do is keep on carrying out the same policies and practices which have destroyed American jobs and American lives and turned the country into an economic basket case, all he wants to do is keep on carrying out the same policies and practices which have bankrupted the country and its future. Obama is an economic illiterate and is simply incapable of improving the economy. If he really wants to improve it he should get big government off its back and stay as far away from it as possible.
Grooming gangs are a terrible problem in Europe and becoming a terrible problem in the United States and other Western countries like Australia and Canada too. Grooming gangs are composed of Islamists who capture, rape, groom and pimp underage non-Muslim girls and use them as sex slaves, use them to satisfy their own sexual desires and use them as prostitutes as well, in full compliance with Islamic law, values, history and tradition. The grooming gangs are ubiquitous in European countries with their large and growing Islamist populations and operate to a somewhat lesser extent, for now, in the United States and other Western countries like Australia and Canada…if you’re a non-Muslim who lives near Islamists in Europe or anywhere else in the West and you have an underage daughter or granddaughter or sister or other female relative you better keep a close eye on her lest she become a victim of a grooming gang like so many others have. You should also express your horror at the practice and insist that groomers who are caught be prosecuted to the full extent of the law, then deported and sent back from whence they came.
Al Sharpton is a nationally prominent black Reverend in the United States well known for heightening instead of lowering or defusing racial tension in the U.S., for vilifying and stereotyping whites and fanning the flames of racism and bigotry. Nevertheless, in a recent column in the Huffington Post he wrote “It is an alarming trend that is spurring outrageous incidents across the country. It is despicable, reprehensible and inexcusable. It is insane thuggery, and it is unequivocally wrong.” and “We would not be silent if it were the other way around, and we will not be silent now. This behavior is racist, period.” Reverend Sharpton is talking about the Knockout Game, a “game” in which young blacks acting singly or in groups attack whites, usually older, more defenceless ones, and try to knock them out, preferably with a single punch. The Knockout Game is widespread all over the country and is part of the larger phenomenon of black on white crime in America, both of which have gone more or less unreported in the media due to political correctness or fear of being labelled racist or extremist. Sharpton is one of the few nationally prominent blacks to speak out against the Knockout Game and deserves a great deal of credit for doing so. He also intends to convene a national meeting to discuss the problem and deserves a great deal of credit for that too. President Obama on the other hand has been utterly silent on the Knockout Game itself and black on white crime in general. Good for you Al. And thanks.
Anti-Semitism and hatred of Israel have reared their ugly heads at the United Nations yet again, this time at the expense of millions of poor, struggling farmers in developing nations around the world. Israel put forward a resolution at the U.N. aimed at providing technology and resources to farmers in developing nations so that they can feed themselves and keep up with their countries growing demand for food. The resolution focused on building agricultural cooperatives through investments in technology and various other areas and also sought to help young people, particularly woman, learn how to become successful farmers. The Agricultural Technology for Development resolution received massive support from nations around the world and passed by a vote of 138 to 1. All well and good, except that a coalition of Arab nations fought long and hard against the resolution and the very same coalition, 34 Arab nations in total, abstained from voting on it purely and simply because it was an Israeli initiative. The considerable merits of the resolution were irrelevant and so was the fact that it would help millions of people feed themselves and their countrymen and escape from poverty. All that mattered was that it was an Israeli resolution and therefore had to be fought against…in a nutshell Arab nations at the United Nations were, are, willing to keep millions of people from reaping the benefits of an Israeli initiative because they are anti-Semitic and hate Israel. What does it matter if millions of people will be better off? Arab nations were, are, willing to let them suffer and be mired in poverty because they would be better off thanks to Jews, thanks to Israel. What a callous, sad, pathetic, backward attitude. What callous, sad, pathetic, backward behavior. What callous, sad, pathetic, backward people. It really is a story as old as the United Nations though. Arab anti-Semitism and hatred of Israel…goes on all the time at the U.N. and has from the very beginning.
The United Church of Canada, Canada’s largest Protestant denomination, has launched a campaign to boycott goods produced by three Israeli companies in factories in the West Bank, this to both chastise Israelis for supposedly being the main obstacle to peace between them and the Palestinians and to encourage peace between the two. Churchgoers are urged to boycott the goods themselves and also retailers that carry them…even though the goods are largely produced by Palestinians working in the Israeli factories, Palestinians who would be hurt and hurt badly if the factories had to close or they had to be laid off due to declining sales…even though anyone who makes an honest, objective, factual, knowledgeable assessment of the conflict cannot help but conclude that the Palestinians are preventing peace and are the authors of their own misfortune, not the Israelis…even though anyone who makes an honest, objective, factual, knowledgeable assessment of the conflict knows that this has always been so…even though blaming the Israelis and placing the onus on them while absolving the Palestinians from blame and not requiring them to change their ways does the Palestinians no favors at all and guarantees that peace will never come. No one who is seriously interested in peace between Israelis and Palestinians, no institution which is seriously interested in peace between the two, would even think about boycotting Israel. Israel isn’t the problem and never has been. Palestinian’s attitudes and behavior prevent peace from occurring, nothing else. Peace could and would come in very short order if they would recognize and accept Israel’s legitimacy and existence and stop their constant attacks on Israelis as they attempt to terrorize, maim and kill as many of them as they can and wipe the country off the map, stop trying to remove it from the face of the earth. The fact is Palestinian society is consumed, yes consumed, by hatred of Jews and hatred of Israelis, that Jews and Israelis are constantly, yes constantly, demonized and vilified throughout Palestinian society, that Palestinians are constantly, yes constantly, incited and exhorted to commit violent acts against Israelis, that those who commit violent acts (even of the most horrific, barbaric kind) are glorified and seen as heroes and that all of this is rooted in their religion and not in anything Israel has or hasn’t done. That’s why boycotts are futile and that’s why there is no peace. If the United Church of Canada thinks differently it is ignorant and lazy and not really thinking at all and quite possibly anti-Semitic and the same goes for individual churchgoers as well.
Geert Wilders, the long-time Dutch parliamentarian and indefatigable freedom fighter, should be Man Of The Year for 2013. Why? Because in addition to all his other activities this year on behalf of freedom, democracy and civil liberties he wrote the following letter to the Pope.
In your recent exhortation Evangelii Gaudium (Paragraphs 247-248) you draw the world’s attention to the indebtedness of Christianity to the Jews and their faith. The exhortation also contains a sharp condemnation of the terrible persecutions which the Jews have endured from Christians in the past.
Your words are words which might inspire many.
Unfortunately, they are in sharp contrast to the expressions of hatred which were voiced last October by the spiritual leader of Sunni Islam, Ahmad Al-Tayab, the Grand Imam of the Al-Azhar Institute in Cairo.
During an interview, aired on Egyptian television on October 25, Grand Imam Ahmad Al-Tayab reaffirmed the relevance of Koranic verse 5:82, which states that of all people the Christians are closest to the Muslims, while the Jews are strongest in emnity towards them. This verse has inspired centuries of Islamic hatred of Jews.
Al-Tayab’s invocation of Koranic Jew-hatred is in line with fourteen centuries of Islamic teaching. Grand Imam Al-Tayab’s predecessor at Al-Azhar, Muhammad Sayyid Tantawi, even wrote a book, entitled The Children of Israel in the Koran and the Sunna, in defense of Jew-hatred based on Koranic teachings.
The current suffering of Christians from Islamic persecution in Syria, Iraq, Egypt, Sudan, Nigeria, Pakistan, Indonesia, and so many other countries, clearly indicates what Christians have to endure from the followers of the Koran. What atheists and Jews, who are considered the worst enemies, have to endure from Islam is even worse.
In your exhortation Evangelii Gaudium (Paragraphs 252-253) you state that “authentic Islam and the proper reading of the Koran are opposed to every form of violence.” Reality does not confirm this statement. The Koran is full of bellicose and hate-mongering verses against non-Muslims. Your Holiness will be able to find them if he reads the Koran, but I will name just a few:
2:191-193: “And slay them wherever you come upon them, (…) Fight them, till there is no persecution and the religion is Allah’s.”
4:89: “If they turn their backs, take them, and slay them wherever you find them; take not to yourselves any one of them as friend or helper.”
5:33: “This is the recompense of those who fight against Allah and his Messenger, (…) they shall be slaughtered, or crucified, or their hands and feet shall alternatively be struck off; or they shall be banished from the land.”
8:60: “Make ready for them whatever force and strings of horses you can, to terrify thereby the enemy of Allah and your enemy.”
9:5: “When the sacred months are drawn away, slay the idolaters wherever you find them, and take them, and confine them, and lie in wait for them at every place of ambush.”
9:29: “Fight those who do not believe in Allah.”
9:30: “The Christians call Christ the son of God. That is a saying from their mouth; they but imitate what the unbelievers of old used to say. Allah’s curse be on them.”
9:123: “O believers, fight the unbelievers who are near to you; and let them find in you a harshness; and know that Allah is with the God-fearing.”
47:4: “When you meet the unbelievers, smite their necks.”
I hope that the Holy Father will help us defend the West’s Judeo-Christian and humanistic civilization, to which even atheists and agnostics owe their freedom and democracy.
Nothing will be gained by a refusal to face reality.
We must speak the truth about Islam – the largest threat to mankind in the present age.

Leader of the Party for Freedom (PVV)
Thanks Geert, someone had to tell the Pope he was dead wrong.
People want to be free. People live to be free, fight to be free, go through terrible trials and tribulations to be free and die to be free. Yearning for freedom and struggling for it is part of the human condition and part of human history, from the very beginning. The struggle for freedom is the story of the human race…it is a struggle that is going on all over the world at this moment and a story that is being written at this moment everywhere around the globe…at this very moment freedom is under attack everywhere, by religious fanatics, by politicians, by bureaucrats, by ideologues, by academics, by thugs, by a whole range of those who force or try to force others to live according to their dictates. Even in that great bastion of freedom the United States, people’s freedom is being steadily eroded and lost thanks to venal politicians like President Barack Hussein Obama and they are not nearly as free as they were before he took office. Many would say the same about other countries in the West as well, that their freedoms are being eroded and lost too. In fact, one can look at any country in the West and not help but realize that that is true. So what does all this tell us? Its really very simple. For all its desirability, for all its value, for all its intrinsic worth, for all the blood that has been shed throughout the ages to get it and keep it, freedom is always precarious and always hanging by a thread. It must constantly be fought for and defended or else it will be lost. We in the West are losing more and more of our freedoms every day and unless we fight hard to regain and retain them we will soon no longer be able to call ourselves free people living in free countries, we will soon find ourselves living under tyranny’s yoke. That would be a great, great tragedy, the greatest in the history of humanity. As for our failure to help people who are already living under tyranny’s yoke gain their freedom, that is a great, great tragedy too. Fight for freedom or lose it, that’s the clearest message of our time. The struggle for freedom, that’s the most important struggle of our time. Bar none.
Whoever thought the United States would ever become a nanny state? Not this American, that’s for sure. Not one this big anyway. In this era of big government a nanny state is exactly what the U.S. has become. Regulations cover virtually every aspect of American life, an army of bureaucrats enforces them and woe betide the independent minded American who contravenes one of them. Government has done nothing except get bigger and bigger since Obama became President and it will do nothing but get bigger still until he leaves office, stifling growth, jobs, the economy, artistic expression, forward thinking, entrepreneurship, creativity, freedom of expression, joy, everything. Thanks to Obama Americans don’t govern themselves anymore they are governed by bureaucrats and regulators who control almost everything they do. Its already socialism run amuck and is getting worse day by day. Just look at Obama’s regulatory agenda for 2014. It will cost the economy over 143 Billion Dollars, that’s 143 Billion Dollars, money that the economy just doesn’t have. No wonder the economy is in such lousy shape, no wonder the country is in such lousy shape, no wonder Americans are stressed and frustrated and angry and scared and demoralized. Government is like a huge weight on their shoulders weighing them down and crushing them. No one can breathe anymore, can act independently anymore, can escape from government and its innumerable regulations and the bureaucrats that enforce them. One hundred and forty three billion dollars, on top of all the money that has already been spent on turning America into a nanny state. Good lord. Big government hell, its humongous government and getting more and more humongous every day. Independent Americans? Not any more.
Obamacare sucks. Obamacare will always suck. Obamacare is a sucking disaster. Obama sucks. Obama will always suck. Obama is a sucking disaster.
In 1897 a girl named Virginia O’Hanlon wrote the following letter to the New York Sun newspaper.
I am eight years old.
Some of my little friends say there is no Santa Claus. Papa says “If you see it in the Sun it’s so.”
Please tell me the truth: is there a Santa Claus?
This was the paper’s reply.
Virginia, your little friends are wrong. They have been affected by the skepticism of a skeptical age. They do not believe except they see. They think that nothing can be which is not comprehensible by their little minds. All minds, Virginia, whether they be men’s or children’s, are little. In this great universe of ours man is a mere insect, an ant, in his intellect, as compared with the boundless world about him, as measured by the intelligence capable of grasping the whole of truth and knowledge.
Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus. He exists as certainly as love and generosity and devotion exist, and you know that they abound and give to your life its highest beauty and joy. Alas! How dreary would be the world if there was no Santa Claus. It would be as dreary as if there were no VIRGINIAs. There would be no childlike faith then, no poetry, no romance to make tolerable this existence. We would have no enjoyment, except in sense and light. The eternal light with which childhood fills the world would be extinguished.
Not believe in Santa Claus! You might as well not believe in fairies! You might get your papa to hire men to watch all the chimneys on Christmas Eve to catch Santa Claus, but even if they did not see Santa Claus coming down, what would that prove? Nobody sees Santa Claus, but that is no sign that there is no Santa Claus. The most real things in the world are those that neither children nor men can see. Did you ever see fairies dancing on the lawn? Of course not, but that’s no proof that they are not there. Nobody can conceive or imagine all the wonders that are unseen and unseeable in the world.
You may tear apart the baby’s rattle and see what makes the noise inside, but there is a veil covering the unseen world which not the strongest man, nor even the united strength of all the strongest men that ever lived, could tear apart. Only faith, love, romance, can push aside that curtain and view and picture the supernal beauty and glory beyond. Is it all real? Ah, Virginia, in all this world there is nothing else real and abiding.
No Santa Claus! Thank God! He lives and he lives forever. A thousand years from now, Virginia, nay, ten times ten thousand years from now, he will continue to make glad the heart of childhood.
Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.
