Let’s hope he means it, let’s hope he does it, Re: Netanyahu tells West: Israel won’t rest until Gaza demilitarized, Jerusalem Post, July 16, 2014

If Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu is serious about stopping Hamas from launching rockets into Israel and raining terror, destruction, bloodshed and death on Israel and its citizens there really is only one way to do it.

If Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu is serious about demilitarizing Gaza there really is only one way to do it.

A temporary ceasefire or truce isn’t it.

Ceasefires and truces haven’t worked in the past and they won’t work now.

To stop Hamas from launching rockets into Israel and raining terror, destruction, bloodshed and death on Israel and its citizens Israel must root out and destroy Hamas and its weaponry and infrastructure and then prevent it from resurfacing and reestablishing itself after that is done.

That means Israel must continue with airstrikes until it has accomplished all it can with them, then send in ground forces to fight Hamas and remove its remaining weaponry and infrastructure and then reoccupy Gaza.

Hamas being Hamas there is no other way.

Let me repeat that.

Hamas being Hamas there is no other way.

Netanyahu says he won’t rest until Gaza is demilitarized.

Let’s hope he means it.

Let’s hope he does it.

UPDATE

Israel has just announced that it has sent troops into Gaza and started a ground offensive there against Hamas and its fellow travellers.

Excellent.

And long overdue.
